Demonstration
Let’s add comments and notes to images
To demonstrate these features, I am going to open one of the sets I have created for a lighting class. I navigated back to my “You” page and clicked on the Sets button.
I will open the Introductory Evaluation and Critique set and click on the first image.
To make notes on the image, you click the Actions drop down menu found above the image and select add note.
You can size the marquee and place it any where on the image. In the text box, type whatever note needed. The notes will only appear when you place your pointer on the image. You can read the individual notes left by placing the pointer over a specific marquee.
Remember that you can set in your permissions settings that only you can make notes and comments on your images. You can include friends and family, contacts or all Flickr members if you want to. When and if you include your image in a group, all group members have the right to make notes and comment on all the images in the group pool.

As you are exploring other artist’s images you can check in the Actions drop down menu to see if he/she allows notes. If so, you do the same steps as above to make note on the image.
Adding comments is more of a universal feature on Flickr. Most people allow comments to be made about their images (even though this is up to you). To add a comment is like most discussion boards. Below the image, you will find a discussion thread. You can read them all or skip to the bottom and post your own comment. Here is an example of some one commenting on one of my images and beside it is a comment I made on the critique image from before.

Notice that you can reply directly to anyone’s post to one of your images. You can also delete a posting on one of your image if you feel it is necessary.
Making notes and commenting on images are two features that allow you to interact with individual images. There are more features for you to explore.
The next section will touch on some of the ways you can share your images, found images, and your photostream (the “You” page).
