Where can you get it?

It is very simple. You go to http://www.flickr.com/ . Starting your own account is as quick as logging in on your Yahoo, Google, or Facebook account. Flickrnow allows you to use your user name and password for all three companies’ accounts. The Flickr website does a good job walking you through the starting an account process. It also provides a good tutorial to get acquainted with the websites features: http://www.flickr.com/tour/#section=tell-a-story

How much does it cost?

When you first sign up, you are given the free Flickr account. With this free account you can upload 2 videos (maximum of 90 seconds long) and 300 Mb worth of photos each month. I estimate 300 Mb to be around 60 images at 5 Mb a piece. This resets at the beginning of each calendar month. There are also limitations on the access to image size and how many groups you can upload images to. You have access to explore and view literally millions of photos which have been uploaded to Flickr.

You can upgrade to the Pro account for $24.95 a year. With a Pro account you can have greater access to images than before. With this account, you receive greater uploading privileges: “Unlimited photo uploads (20MB per photo); unlimited video uploads (90 seconds max, 500MB per video); The ability to show HD Video; Unlimited storage; Unlimited bandwidth; Archiving of high-resolution original images; The ability to replace a photo; Post any of your photos or videos in up to 60 group pools; Ad-free browsing and sharing; and View count and referrer statistics.” (Flickr from Yahoo, 2011)
